before summer ends

If there is one summer trend that I absolutely loved this season, its coral lips!!
Images from google
They're just so different and bright! And just out there ya know? I loved them, but I was always self conscience about how an coral shade would look on me. I am of a medium skin tone, and Im pretty sure Ive addressed my fear of corals in a previous post. My Coral Nails post. Yes, coral/orange/yellow does not look good on me! I feel like it makes me look too dark. But anyways, I have slowly been wandering into the coral spectrum and it started with my nails, and then I wore a coral top (which I got tons of compliments on) and now, on to lipstick!! I just couldn't let the summer go by without at least trying it once.

I went to my mom's friend (who is also an Avon representative) and ordered a coral lipstick which is pictured above. While initially opening it I was heart broken to see that it was slightly melted and breaking off. I quickly popped it into the fridge to fix it. After an hour or so I got it out and decided to test it out. The results shocked me...

I loved it!!! Its not as orange as I thought, since it is a bit sheer the natural pink hue of my lips showed trough which gives off a very pinky coral shade which I really like. Definitely my new favorite lipstick! Sorry Blushing Brunette! This lipstick goes on so smoothly it almost feels like a lipbalm which makes me love it more. This is my first moisture seduction lipstick (I always buy the regular formula) and well, I really like it better than the regular formula.

my week in photos.

I decided to start this little project to showcase a bit of my camera work and also to just keep this a fluent blog. So if anything, each week you will receive a post similar this. This week consisted of my revving up my old film camera. I decided to finally go out and shoot, thought I havnt gone out yet, it is in my plans to do so. Ive been drinking coffee like a mad man and I love to drink it out of my Nikon lens coffee mug, I get a lot of compliments on it when I take it to school and it just makes me feel all neat and artsy. I bought some instant iced latte packs. You just pour in your cold milk and the little packet and voila! and instant iced latte! I love the hazelnut flavor the best. One thing that really calms my nerves is taking pictures of flowers. Especially pink ones. There is just something about pink flowers that soothes me. What soothes you on a nerve wrecking day?

A Few New Makeup Buys!

I went into this resale shop looking for a birthday gift for my boyfriend's little cousins and I somehow managed to wander toward the makeup section and I found this Stila Palette for only $5.99. My initial instinct was just to grab it and run away. I love it, it has some really pretty shimmery colors. The colors are (left to right), sugar/light/peaceful/bronze/dawn/precious/demure/delicate/sangria/truffle. My two favorites have got to be Dawn and Sangria. Sugar is your basic white eyeshadow with lots of shimmer. Light is a very light almost pink brown with again, lots of shimmer. Peaceful is a pretty lilac/pink color. Bronze is obviously a bronze color but it has more of a peachy shimmer to it. Dawn is a peach color with a more golden shimmer. Precious is like peaceful but its more pink than lilac. Demure is more of a true deep brown copper. Delicate is a gold color with hold shimmer. Sangria is a red wine color and Truffle is a dark brown with a tiny bit of copper shimmer. Truffle is the least shimmery of them all. I love all of these colors, they're all very pigmented and super soft. My only problem is that since they are so shimmery they have a TON of fallout while applying. I find it better to pack on the shadow instead of sweeping it on. You definitely need a primer with this to get the full intensity of these shadows.

I bought two lipsticks off of an Avon catalog. Firstly I would like to say that I love Avon lipsticks, theyre so smooth and creamy and with a very nice pigmentation. I love these colors, but, I dont like the shimmer in them. Ive never been too fond of shimmery lipsticks and yeah. I was kinda upset because the swatch in the catalog showed no sign of shimmer. I got the colors Country Rose which is a very light hot pink with pink shimmers, and Cozt Mauve (I made a mistake in the picture, the color is COZY MAUVE, not MOD MAUVE!!) which is a mauve color with almost like a gold sheen to it. Not too pleased with these. Out of the two of them, I like Country Rose better. I blot them with a tissue paper to reduce the shimmers and I get a nice lipstain from both of these and they are very moisturizing. The lipsticks where kind of a hit and miss for me.

Any products you regret buying recently?

ps. You guys like the way I edited the photos? let me know! :)

Coral Boots!

I went to the thrift store today and got a few things, some not really post worthy but anyways. I found the coolest coral boots ever. I'm not sure what to wear with them, i was thinking maybe wear like all black and then the boots. Might look cool, you know, color pop. So yeah, they're a size too big but I still got them. They where only ten dollars and I was planning on wearing them in the winter anyways so I would wear them with thick socks. Over all I love them and I'm going to be going again soon to see what other things I can find!
