A week in photos -

You know how everyone has a certain addiction? For example, my dads addiciton would happen to be jack in the box tacos, my brothers would be his xbox, and mine? Mine is arizona green tea. I drink tons of it. I think this week alone I drank eight. Every time I go to work I buy a big one. I just love it.

So this week was just a normal boring week, I worked went to school, yada, yada, yada. Nothing special. I did however finish season one of The Big Bang Theory during school. I have an hour and a half passing 'period' between my two classes so I have time to kill, and kill that time by watching The Big Bang Theory. I have a cheese muffin and a Starbucks mocha frapp every day to go with it. Good stuff!

Regrets, and lessons learned.

So as promised here is a post regarding my red hair, however this is not a happy post. And Ill tell you why, here is the story. So my hair was getting rather orange, too orange for my liking and I desperately wanted to dye it again. I got out of work late yesterday and had no time to go to the Sally's beauty supply store and buy my regular hair dyeing combination.

I usually use L'oreal Excellence HiColor in the brightened red for my roots and then use Manic Panic's Rock
'n' Roll Red for the already lighten portions of my hair. But, by the time I got out of work Sally's was already closed and I really wanted to dye my hair so I opted for the next best thing... walmart... what a mistake.

I was staring blankly at the hair dye section for about thirty minutes and really didnt know which dye to pick.
I ended up going for this one.

This Garnier dye in the color Light Intense Auburn.
The box claims to be ULTRA INTENSE ON DARK HAIR. But if it didnt even end up "ultra intense" on my already lightened orange hair I doubt it would work for dark hair.
As most dyes it came with the color creme and the developer.
The developer it came with was a Volume 20 developer and although it would be less harsh on my hair to use it, I always use a 40 volume because I want it to be a super intense red.
This is the brand of developer I like the best.
I poured the correct amount of my 40 vol developer in a bowl and added the color creme and applied it as usual, concentrating on the root of my hair.

This was the end result and I hate it. Its actually rather brownish red which is not at all what the box implied since it did say, "ULTRA INTENSE RED". The only reason it looks remotely red in this picture is because my walls are hot pink so they cast a red tint on photos and because the flash was on. In the dark it looks maroon and I hate it so much. But I guess that is what I get for being impatient. I am going to wash my hair repeatedly right now in hopes to fade this a bit and soak it in so much leave in conditioner. I am going to wash my hair everyday for this whole week in hopes that it will fade fast so I can go ahead and use my usual dyeing routine. And then I will do a proper post.

This was mainly a rant, but I am never purchasing this hair color ever again. One pro is that like all garnier dyes it came with the oil thingy which actually leaves you hair super soft after dyeing it. Another bit of beef I have with this is that it leaves A LOT of red residue all over your skin and hair. I put Vaseline along my hair line as per usual and washed out all the color and my hair line still got red and my hands where red the whole time today. Every time I touched my hair I would look at my hands and they would be orange, I wore a light gray shirt today and the collar of said shirt is now red. I hate this dye, I hate this color, dont buy it, its awful.

Today is the first day of spring as many of you already know and I am thoroughly excited!

Reasons why:
1. This is the last semester of my first year of college
2. the new beauty trends of 2012
3. Spring means summer is almost here so fun vacation times!
4. I have a car so I can actually have fun vacation times now

It does feel a bit odd though since we didn't have a proper winter this year, but I am excited non-the less

I really want to try some trends that I was too chicken to try out last year. Like color blocking and maxi dresses/skirts. I never thought about buying a maxi skirt/dress because well, I'm five feet tall and I always thought that maxi dresses and skirts where better suited for more taller girls. But than to blogger and youtuber Dulce Candy I have gathered the confidence in myself. Shes actually four feet nine inches I believe. That's shorter than me! And if you follow her blog and look at her OOTD featuring maxi skirts and dresses she looks fabulous! So I decided to be more confident about myself and embrace my five foot tall body.

What trends are you guys trying out if any this spring? Last year I sought out to try the coral lip and I did so and now I have tons of color lipsticks I plan to wear this spring/summer! So yeah, what trends are you guys trying out this spring/summer season?

FOTD

I woke up today around 12pm after coming home from the beach at 3am. I was so exhauested and did not feel like going to work at all. I was so tempted to call in but decided to just go since it was only four hours and I needed all the hours I could get. And since I was feeling so lazy my makeup was super simple and natural today beside the exception of my winged eyeliner. Although I did do my winged eyeliner, but I do that every day. It is a must in my makeup routine. I primed my face after washing it then concealed my dark circles then applied my foundation setting the under eye area with the E.L.F concealer mineral powder, then primed my eye lids. I used Sidecar from my Naked palette all over my lid, with buck in the crease, and then put virgin on the center of my lid and also on my tear duct. I applied mascara and then smiled and applied my favorite blush, Tarte's Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed.

Products used:
Urban Decay Naked Pallet: Virgin, sidecar, and buck
L'oreal Voluminous million lashes
Hard Candy Glamoflauge concealer in Medium

OOTD - What the hell am I doing edition.

Seriously... what the hell am I doing with my face?

Anyways, I am proud to say that this whole outfit was under thirty dollars. Crazy right? I personally pride myself in being a bargain hunter. I am in no way ashamed of admitting that I buy at resale shops, thrift stores, or discount stores. Not saying that I am anti-name-brand-things-and-stuff but I was just raised in a home where having name brand and expensive things was just not a priority.

I got the rose blush colored cardigan at a discount store called Fallas Paredes for 7.99, the white tank top I also got there which I love. Its loose and light weight, and yeah. I just love loose tank tops. That was only 1.99, my jean short-shorts are from my job, Melrose, and although I dont typically like the clothes at my job these shorts where on sale after last season summer. All the shorts where on sale for two shorts for five dollars. BARGAIN! so I bought a ton and saved them for the summer so Im starting to wear them now. My shoes are from Forever 21 and they where on sale for fifteen dollars. Which you cant see what they look like but they are oxfords and everyone pretty much knows what they look like.

I also went to the zoo today :)

Elephants. Vee approved.

I hadnt been to the Houston Zoo in a long time and it felt real nice to go again. I felt like a kid. Traffic was a nightmare, and it was packed but in the end it was totally worth it.

Things I plan on blogging about
  • How I maintain my red hair (which I will do when I re-dye my roots)
  • a collective haul of everything Ive bought during my absence (beauty, and clothes)
  • more week in photos
  • more OOTD & MOTD

Im back.

Im back. But for how long? I'll let you know this, I'll start posting again starting Wednesday which will be March 14. I decided to stop blogging, also temporarily quitting tumblr, to focus on my schooling to find out that my life is boring and the only way I can make it seem interesting is to blog about it. That way others might think that my life is actually fun.
Things that have happened while I was gone.
I dyed my hair red...
Read The Fault In Our Stars and got a personalized signed copy courtesy of a friend.
I also bought a banjo...

Nothing too interesting but at least now I feel a bit cooler. No one seems to like listening to me ramble about the things I bought or the things I did beside my small following on here. You guys make me feel better. So I shall start up my blog, Leindiewolf again, and also if you would like to follow me on Twitter feel free to do so @wolftoast
